Everybody has been forced to change the way they live and work due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Both in our drop-in clinics and visiting you and your pets at home, we need to be mindful of the potential risks we all face.
If you are symptomatic or isolating at the request of test and trace, please don’t request a visit from us without advising us first. We will do what we can, remotely if necessary, if there is a pressing medical need for your pet. If things are not urgent, we will postpone until you are well, or have finished isolating, or have your negative test result.
If we are unwell or symptomatic, we will contact you to rearrange the booking, or advise you remotely if possible. It may be necessary for you to contact a local vet to be seen if urgent.
Please see the note below regarding telemedicine consultations.
In general we will wear a face covering or visor, and will ask you to do the same, and we will keep our time spent within two metres of you to a minimum. We of course wash and sanitise our hands between patients as a routine. If you are concerned about any aspect of how we will work, just ask!
Our protocols are summarised below:
We would always rather examine a patient to be sure we are treating them appropriately, but there may be times when this is not possible for example if you are self isolating.
It is normally not allowed to prescribe for patients you have not examined, but temporarily during COVID 19 the RCVS has allowed us to do this.
If you need a remote (phone/video) consultation, just ask, and we can arrange it if appropriate. These are chargeable and the fee is £45 per consultation.
