It is an inevitable and saddening fact that one of the responsibilities of having a much loved pet in our lives is to allow them a peaceful and stress free end to their time with us.
It is a privilege to be trusted with guiding you through the process, and my aim is to help you and your pet at this sad time, assisting you with the decisions when that time has come, and helping you make the arrangements.
It is much easier all round if you are able to think about these arrangements in advance, rather than trying to make decisions when you are faced with the loss of your pet on that day. Due tothe way we work, we are not able to take your pet with us afterwards, so arrangements will need to be made for this, which we can advise on.
We have prepared a document to explain what to expect - please find this linked below.
Counselling can be really helpful after the loss of a pet whether expected or not. The Blue Cross offer the Pet Bereavement Support Service by phone on 0800 096 6606 or you can email pbssmail@bluecross.org.uk and they can help you through this difficult time.
It is important to us that your pet is handled with respect after they have passed away, so we recommend individual cremation with Dignity (www.dignitypetcrem.co.uk ) please take some time to look at their websites and see what is different about them compared with other pet cremation services. Dignity will be happy to advise you on pricing; their service is bespoke. Your regular vet will be able to help you if you do not want individual cremation, we can call them for you to discuss how to make this work for you.
Feel free to ask any questions you may have about this important time for both you and you beloved pet.
We can offer a paw print as part of our euthanasia service if you wish.
